A Worthwhile Exhibit and a Worthwhile Link

Another lovely sunny day in Phoenix. The Titantic Exhibit at the Science Museum was just wonderful. We first watched the IMAX movie Titantica and then went to the exhibit.

That was definitely the way to do it because the items that were recovered from the ocean floor were so much more meaningful after seeing them on the ocean floor in the movie! I am so amazed at the courage of those modern day explorers. Very brave people. It took the two little submarines launched from the research vessel 2 1/2 hours to reach the ocean floor which is in total darkness! Unbelievable

It was especially meaningful to me that the Titantic was built at the Harland and Wolff Shipyards in Belfast, Northern Ireland. My grandfather, William Coburn, was employed by those shipyards. There were photographs of the workers in the exhibit and I wondered as I looked at them if my grandfather would have been one of the laborers. Probably not or we would have known.

As for the worthwhile link:

Michael Werner of Dream Jobs Dialog posted a bit awhile back about a terrific website that is both fun and worthwhile at the same time. Truly ingenious. Click on this link and check it out! I was fascinated. But you'll have to see it for yourselves. You'll learn something, for sure!

I just love reading your comments. It's part of what makes blogging so much fun, don't you think?

Unfortunately, because of a recent spat of spam, for awhile I'll be reviewing comments before publishing them.

Thanks for understanding.
