The Christmas Tree

I am finally posting the photo of the Christmas tree.  I have to say that it loses in the translation...much prettier "in person."  Oh well.  One of these days I'll figure out how to actually use my camera to its best advantage.  One of these days...

We borrowed the tree, believe it or not.  It's been at least four years since we've had Christmas at home and haven't had a tree in that long.  We were trying to decide between a real tree or another artificial tree.  Pros and cons to both which I will not address at this time.  As luck would have it, the son of our good friends, Mike & Barb said that he had a tree he wasn't using if we wanted to go take it off his front porch.  So we did.  Just had to brush a little snow off the branches, load it into the car and take it home.   Perfect.

This is going to be a whirlwind week because the list of tasks is longer than the time it will take to accomplish all of them.  I had a bit of an accident at Jen's house this past weekend which won't help the situation, I must say.  Was walking down her staircase and thought I was at the bottom but I wasn't.  So the last step was a BIG one.  I might have broken a toe.

Stay tuned...

A borrowed tree looks pretty darn good!
And I did that same mis-step once off the bottom of a step and broke my metatarsal and was supposed to be in a walking cast for 3 months but I sort of modified my idea of a cast so I would not cripple my back.

Take care of that toe and that tree and put your foot up.

I hope your toe is ok!

POD and KK, thanks for the kind words. Well, the toe is broken...went to the doctor, yesterday. She said it's broken across the joint but it's not out of whack so should heal okay. I have a huge black "boot" contraption to wear. It will be a stunning addition to my Christmas attire, for sure - ha!

Ohhh, Cheryl, so sorry about your toe. Ouch! Hope you can get around okay. My friend Judy is from Minnesota and says it's particularly rough your way right now. Stay warm near your fab tree...doesn't look like a last-minute tree to me...love your tree skirt and all next to your beautiful sofa, with snow in the background... wow! Merry Christmas!!!

Watch out for that huge black boot! I had one of those and they throw the spine out of whack. You're wearing one big black boot on one side and a regular shoe on the other side the your lower spine is all out of whack (that's a professional diagnosis) (whack).
So be careful. I stopped wearing mine and modified a cloth boot out of some bandaging because I had to wear it for about 3 months. It's not worth hurting your back to fix that toe.
Ice the toe!
thanks for all your comments today. Looks like you were catching up. Have a great weekend and holiday if I don't hear/read from you.

Hi Kittie, my toe is going to be just fine...not hurting much, anymore. And POD, I know what you mean about the boot! It drives me nuts after about an hour so I take it off. All I need is to have my spine thrown out of whack!
