A Snowy Day at Lake Mary

Just a couple of pictures to illustrate how much fun the twins had sliding down the hill at Lake Mary.  Well, their Mom and Dad and Auntie Jen and Grandpa had fun, too.

Only in Minnesota would you swing on a tire swing when there is a foot of snow on the ground.  Red cheeks and runny noses just don't matter.

Today is packing day...we're leaving in the morning for Bainbridge Island, Washington and one of our favorite housesits.  Two sweet cats will be our charges for about a month.   As usual, I'll post along the way and while we're there. There will be a million photo ops.  I love Bainbridge Island.

The house will be battened down until we return.  The furnace will be turned down low but the security system is set up to call Jack's cell phone if it gets below a certain temperature and if that happens, the furnace guy is alerted.  How cool is that?   Mail will be collected by our neighbor.  Water turned off.

Goodbye, winter!  Stay tuned.

  1. The photos are a bit reminiscent of Currier and Ives most especially the first pic.

And you made a pun about the furnace guy notification and "how cool is that?"

Hope you have a great time on the island and a happy new year.

  2. Lovely photos! The snowman is adorable (and we would totally be swinging on a tire around here in weather like that, too.... if we had a tire slung from a tree, that is!)

Have a great time on the island - can't wait to see pictures.

    Happy New Year!

  4. Wow, POD, Currie & Ives? You're making me blush...Bless you!

Lady B, believe it or not I figured that you'd be a winter tire swing devotee. I really did.

You would LOVE Bainbridge Island, Kittie. It's gorgeous and has quite a history. Maybe I can hunt up a story or two. Nobody can tell stories like you, though.

I just love reading your comments. It's part of what makes blogging so much fun, don't you think?

Unfortunately, because of a recent spat of spam, for awhile I'll be reviewing comments before publishing them.

Thanks for understanding.
