Scott was a very nice person and felt awful that he couldn't find my ring. He said, "I really wanted to be able to hand it to you. Will you call me if you find it?" Of course I will.
For some strange reason I actually felt better. My sister came over from Port Angeles and we looked all over the upstairs of the house. Both of my sisters thought I should take Luna for an xray but I honestly didn't think she could swallow that ring. It's a cluster of diamonds and it would be just too big. She'd be one sick kitty and she's been actively playing with Winston all day...looks quite healthy to me.
Just a few minutes ago the homeowners called to let me know they'll be back Wednesday, for sure. I filled them in on all of the comings and going around here. All creatures great and small are fat and happy. I ordered and had delivered two more bags of sheep food and a bale of alfalfa. One chicken died (a neighbor put it in the garbage for me) and I'm becoming quite the farmerlady or whatever the term is (Bag Lady...what's the word I'm looking for?)
Naughty Luna playing with a feather
Then I mentioned the ring episode. They were so, so, so sorry. They said that Luna loves rings. She thinks they're pretty and she will carry one around and put it someplace.
I now have hopes that it will be found. I'm going hunting, again, when I post this. If I don't find it, I'm pretty sure they will.
Stay tuned.

A cat that likes rings? Oh, I do hope you find it!
I had high hopes....Cheryl, the homeowners bear some responsibility here. This situation isn't fair to you or your hub. Have you looked/felt under sofas and chairs? I had a cat once who had torn a hole in the fabric on the sofa's belly and would hide things there. Took me awhile to find her cache. Your ring's in the house. Think low and obvious. Good luck! (A thought: Does your insurance have a 'mysterious disappearance' clause?)
Farm lady works (ummm, since it's a chicken ranch, perhaps "madam" is the correct term? Oh, wait.... do y'all call brothels "chicken ranches" down there? Hehehehehe - sorry, couldn't help myself.)
I sure hope you find your ring. Perhaps giving the cat another shiny object and watching where she takes it will help you discover her stash!
I know, Lady Fi...I can understand a kittem playing with small objects but to actually have a favorite like a ring...that's unusual, I think.
You are right, Kittie...and I think they know that. Well, I think it's insured against any kind of loss (I hope). I'd rather have my ring, tho. I'm going to do a more thorough job of looking today.
Bag Lady - Believe it or not, Jack suggested that! So I think I'll pick up a shiny fake ring, today. Couldn't hurt! I kinda like "madam", actually :)
My cat Scooter got my wedding ring 2 different times. The 1st time, we caught her carrying it across the living room.
The second time, I couldn't find my ring we knew she must have gotten it. We tore her room apart and finally found it.
I learned not to leave it out anymore. I hope you find your ring.
Good to know that other cats do this, The Japanese Redneck! Lessons learned.
I read this post last night but my connection was too slow to comment. I am so, so sorry. If that cat ate the ring, I hope you find it sparkling through the cat litter. ;-)
I'm sending all my psychic energy at you to zero in on the location of the ring. Of course, it didn't help me find my three great-granddaughters picture last month.
I still haven't found them and they're way bigger than a ring!
Silly kitty
POD...believe it or not I actually checked the stupid litter for two days...yuk.
Ms Sparrow...thank you for the effort! I'll send my psychic energy back to you.
KK...silly kitty, indeed. If she wasn't so darned cute...
Here's my totally-from-left-field-and-unrelated comment... I see from the next post that you've found your ring (hooray!) and so I just wanted to say I LOVE that rug! I've always wanted one of those. And your stripey Luna somehow goes perfectly with it:-)
