See that innocent little kitty face? This is Luna and she was sitting on a stool peeking at me over the kitchen counter. I think she knows I'm not happy.
My earrings and rings were sitting on the bathroom vanity, this morning, and I walked by to see Luna lying on the floor playing with my earrings. My wedding band was close by but my diamond ring was nowhere to be seen. I looked everywhere...under the counter...behind the loo...behind the door. It couldn't have gone down the drain because there's a plug in it. It's a small bathroom.
There's a floor heat register just across from the vanity and I am quite sure that my diamond ring dropped through and is somewhere in the heat ducts of this house.
I keep going back into the bathroom to search. I've looked all up and down the hallway in case she batted it out of the room. It's nowhere to be seen.
I'm calling the furnace people in the morning to see if they would have any way to retrieve something that has fallen into a heat duct. That was Jack's idea...he feels awful, too. The ring is insured but I don't want the insurance money...I want my ring.
Please keep fingers crossed that we can find it.

Oh, NO! I know exactly how you feel - I lost the diamond out of my engagement ring a few years ago... i think it went down the kitchen sink drain. It took me forever to save enough to replace the diamond, and now I'm afraid to wear the ring because I don't want that happening again!
I hope the furnace people can retrieve it for you!
(fingers crossed)
Sending a prayer your way...I hope you find it.
Sometimes cats can be so very frustrating...
OH NO! My heart sank! Oh, Cheryl, I feel for you and Jack! And naughty Luna, half a mouse for you! When I had my vents cleaned last, the guy vacuumed into a container...if they could come with an empty container...please let us know how this turns out...hugs, prayers, and have a glass of wine!
I got a chuckle out of the picture of Luna peering over the counter until I found out what a naughty kitty she is. I might suggest that you keep an eye on the litter box just in case...
No cats involved (that I know of) but today is the second day in a row that I've found a gemstone earring on the ground--different days, different places. This must be Escapist Jewelry Week.

Thanks, everyone, for commiserating with me! The furnace guy came and did his best...he even took the vent apart and looked from both directions with a camera. No ring. So...I'm looking everywhere that she might have hidden it. This kitten does carry her toys around so that's a possibility. I'm also checking through all my stuff on the off chance that it wasn't up there on the counter. But I always remove both rings at the same time so...
Bag Lady - it's an awful feeling, that's for sure. Even though you got a new one, I'm sure it's just not the same.
Geosomin - Thanks for the prayer. Keep 'em coming, please.
Kitty, the furnace guy had that camera and it was very cool...I could see on the screen what was in the vent. No ring.
Ms. Sparrow, I am checking the litter box but I don't think she could have swallowed it because she's pretty little, still.
Solariy, Thanks for stopping by! You lucky thing...two gemstones in two days...Escapist Jewelry Week! How funny. I'm off to do some more searching.
look at that guilty face :)
I'm so happy you found the ring in the end.
Solveig, she did look guilty. It was almost like she was saying, "I'm sorry."
