I just finished sorting through the photos I took at the Volunteer Park Conservatory in Seattle. Got some pretty good ones, I think. These aren't all tropical flowers, of course, (like the hydrangeas and the begonias) but they're at their very best when they're grown in optimal conditions. And a conservatory is about as optimal as you will find!
I don't know all of their names so I'm not going to rattle on about them...just going to post a few. Am going to upload a bunch more to my Flickr photostream when I get a chance. Feel free to let me know if you can identify any of them...I'd love that!
This is called a Rattlesnake Plant...I can totally understand why! Beautiful leaves, don't you think?
Banana tree, obviously.
Hydrangea
A type of Begonia, I believe.
And the next photo is a sculpture named "Rainforest" that was created for the conservatory in 1997 by the internationally recognized artist Toshiko Takaezu. She created it to honor life and human spirit and we're told that she rarely parts with her bells so this is very special.
It's here at the conservatory until it's placed permanently in another Seattle public garden called the Kubota Garden.
I still want to post some photos from the Asian Museum at Volunteer Park and then there are some pretty views of the Arboretum at Seattle's Washington Park that I'm planning to post.
Thank you for taking the time to visit. I'm really grateful for your friendship.

Beautiful flowers...yep, think it's a begonia...and let's hope the weather holds. Happy Easter to you and yours!
