Dandelions...took this shot while on a walk up the road. It's too bad they're weeds.**
I need to get a book on dreams. Jack dreams every single night and from what he tells me they are pretty bizarre. Not "creepy" bizarre...just "wacky" bizarre. Many of his dreams include people he knew years and years ago and there is no logical explanation as to why they have appeared in his dream.
I never dream. I either sleep beautifully all through the night or I am awake half of the night...no middle ground. Until last night.
I dreamed last night and it was wacky. Can't remember most of it but the gist of it was that I was working in some sort of warehouse where huge eighteen-wheelers would come to either deliver merchandise or pick up merchandise to be delivered elsewhere.
My responsibility was to make lunch for two drivers. I remember going to the huge warehouse door and asking one driver if he was from Chicago.
It was my first time with this responsibility, I think. So I made tuna macaroni salad and tuna sandwiches. Go figure.
If anyone can explain this I'm all ears...
**The photo? Well, I just like to have a photo in my posts...

I've talked to several people who have had wacky dreams lately. I'm like you. Don't remember having them most of the time, although I had wild dreams for most of my life, up until the past few years... Two nights ago, though, it was really wacky. Dreams are interesting...
ReplyDeleteI dreamt a lot when I was younger but now not as much. When I do though - they are almost always scary!
ReplyDeleteI like the picture!
you are hungry? smiles.
ReplyDeleteSome weeds are the prettiest things in the yard.
ReplyDeleteI always have wacky dreams, remember them when I wake up. But, they fade after a few hours.
The dream books I have, do not explain what my dreams have meant. Kinda reminds me of somebody doing a fortune telling. If a man is in your dream, then blah. If water is in your dream, blah blah. I want to know what it means when the big purple and yellow lizard is chasing me down the street!
I have a friend who has scores of dream books and analyzes dreams and her analysis is as confusing as my dreams
ReplyDeletethanks for visiting my dancer post and for you very kind comment
Teresa, it would be interesting to take a poll to see if there's some common thread between people who dream.
ReplyDeleteDiane, I like that picture, too! I've read that a scary dream just means that all is well. Strange, I'll admit.
Brian, good guess! And might well have been the case.
J.R. - Hmmmm. When the big purple and yellow lizard is chasing you down the street you could just be in someone else's dream ;)
Dianne, thanks for stopping. Yep, I think you are correct...analyzing dreams is probably an exercise in futility!
BTW, You DID earn that LOTW award so my comment was apropos.
It will take a while before dandelions bloom here:;)
ReplyDeleteOh, I dream very vivid dreams, but I am no good at interpretation.;)
xo
Zuzana
Zuzana, do you actually get dandelions?? I thought they were strictly a North American weed...We probably sent them to Denmark!
ReplyDeleteDang. I left a long comment and then I think I forgot to do the word veri...
ReplyDeletebrief summary now: Those aren't weeds, that's salad :-)
And I fall into the bizarre dreamer category. Like Jack, I dream about people I knew over 25b years ago!
According to my Abnormal Psyc book "the psychoanalytical theory holds that in sleep ego defenses are relaxed, allowing normally repressed material to enter the sleeper's consciousness. Since this material is extremely threatening it is rarely allowed into consciousness in its actual form, rather the repressed material is disguised and dreams take on heavily symbolic content." In other words I couldn't tell you, I'm no Freud. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like your photo today, I just hope that I don't see dandelions on my lawn!
J. - You're right...those are "greens" which would be good in a salad and which my grandmother used to cook. They're kind of spinach-like and not bad at all. But then, there weren't any pesticides back then so you didn't have to worry about being poisoned.
ReplyDeletedarlin - I might have known you'd have a textbook with good information! Now I just have to figure out what was so threatening that my consciousness couldn't cope with it...will keep you posted *wink*.
I love wacky dreams... and dandelions, in our garden, they're flowers! ;-)
ReplyDeleteCheryl if you do figure this out please do let me know, my email address is darlin4321@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI'm curious if Freud really knew what he was talking about. :-)
Dreams interpretation is usually best left to those who know you well.. preferably yourself. Connections usually click eventually.. unless we've forgotten the dream by then. ;)
ReplyDeleteTuna hot dish - Minnesota thing. Dandelions - my kids always thought they beautiful. Collected them on their way home from school. I remember one even collected them when only the seeds remained. Growing up in Minnesota, our lawns needed to be dandelion free. But who decided its a weed? Quite useful, really.
ReplyDeleteLady Fi, I do like your attitude about dreams...maybe the wackier the better!
ReplyDeleteDarlin, I figure as long as there's nothing wacky going on in my conscious mind (wouldn't I know?) then my subconscious is probably just bored.
Hilary, good advice.
Midlife Jobhunter, tuna hotdish is definitely a Minnesota thing...so that's a good interpretation...I've been away from home most of the winter. Maybe it's time to go back. Weed or not, you can't beat that vibrant yellow of the dandelion, I guess.
Dandelions are love flowers - they are the first flowers little kids pick and give to their mothers!
ReplyDeleteI saw a dandelion just the other day, blooming happily in a crack in the cement, so spring must be here - at least, in the city. There is still snow on the lawn out here on the ranch.
I have no idea what your dream meant - I'm like you, I rarely dream (or, if I do dream, I rarely remember them) and have a similar sleep pattern. Either I sleep like the dead, or I'm awake half the night, wishing I could fall asleep!
Bag Lady - I never thought about it in those terms but you're absolutely right...dandelions are love flowers! You rock!
ReplyDeleteI always have weirdo dreams!
ReplyDeleteKK - Seems like more people dream than don't dream. Very interesting :)
