A Memorial Day Wish

A happy and peaceful weekend is my wish for each person reading this post...for those of you in the United States, a Happy Memorial Day.

We all are grateful to... and remember... all of the brave men and women who have given their lives over all the years to try to keep the world a safer place.

This photograph is one of my favorites...I took it in Mendocino, California a year or so ago when we were there.   I wish I could link that Peace flag with flags from all of the countries the world.

  1. Hi Cheryl,
Your picture says what we all want in a hopeful way. Flags flying in strength and unity. Thank you for sharing your picture here and I hope your weekend is refreshing for you.

  6. Happy Memorial Day :-)

Hopefully, some other major problems will also be solved soon enough, like the oil leak!!!
As human beings, it is our major responsibility right now to protect the weaker ones, and those are the poor inhabitants of the ocean :-)

    Greetz,

    Joseph

  7. Thanks for the peace flag with the American flag. You can be patriotic without believing in war. I support our troops, but would like them to come home.

  10. I echo Judy: support our troops without supporting the war.

The wife of a very dear friend was just last week sent back to Afghanistan...her third one year tour. She leaves her husband at home to raise their two sons. And the kicker is that she was all set to retire in 26 days! It's a term called STOP-LOSS, in which the military can force a person to extend their service with the forces.

Today, I gave my thanks to her sacrifice as well as all our other men and women of the armed forces.

I just love reading your comments. It's part of what makes blogging so much fun, don't you think?

Unfortunately, because of a recent spat of spam, for awhile I'll be reviewing comments before publishing them.

Thanks for understanding.
