Messing around with blogger, again

It's not as if I don't have a million things to do...we're putting up knotty pine in our downstairs family room, we have an art fair this weekend, I'm supposed to be studying my A-List Blogger Club lessons, we have to go to Minneapolis on Tuesday,  and we're getting ready for more company.

But I'm messing around with the templates on Blogger.  So....what do you think of this template?  Is it easy to read?  Is that raspberry header background jarring or jazzy?  Do you think the photos stand out as well?

I love the new looks I'm seeing on some of your blogs...I guess we just can't leave well enough alone!

We're working at an art fair on Saturday but I've scheduled a rather amusing/interesting post (I think).
Stay tuned!

  1. I LIKE IT!!!!!

It's simple, but extraordinary. The raspberry header is perfect. I think photos always show up better on a darker background, but reading is easier on the eyes on a lighter background.

I think this one is a keeper!

  3. Thanks, Ethel...I was just mulling over perhaps trying a dark background. But I think I'll stick with this one...for now.

Wow, thank you Leah...actually, I think the template is called "Simple" and I just played around with the background. Easy on the eyes is important.

  5. Cheryl, this is a nice, simple background in my opinion but my eyes were shocked when I got here and even after reading the blog and the comments I just want to get away from this page and find my sunglasses! lol I find it's almost to bright especially after coming from various blogs which all have color in them. I feel like I'm back writing an essay! lol

... just my honest opinion which is in my way meant to offend you.

Have a fantastic weekend, sounds like a super busy one!

  6. Thanks, Ramona. The white is a good background, I think. I still might try a darker one, tho.

Darlin' thanks so much for your feedback. Maybe I'll play around with that color...it occurs to me that on some servers it might be brighter than on others. Color does have a way of changing even in different lighting conditions. Appreciate your comments, very much.

  8. That's the best idea, yet, POD. Maybe I'll just do that!! You've kind of played with the templates, yourself, I've noticed, you rascal.

  9. I really like the new blog looks on so many blogs too. I tried some new things on mine but did not like it so I am staying with my old fashioned look for now. I have a fear that with the few new looks Blogger offers that pretty soon so many blog will look alike. And yeah if I make a change I want to be different.

  10. I did discover that you can change most anything on any Blogger template like fonts and columns, etc. Not wild about the color choices, though. I'll keep messing around with this...even though it's probably not the best use of my time - ha!!

  11. LOL, Cheryl,
I see you've changed it again since this post. I like the red, black, and gray fonts on the template you chose.

I changed mine when I first discovered the new ones, and have been spending too much time going back and looking at my blog in other templates and messing with the options. I've noticed there's another new template since I made the change, and was messing around with that the other day, but decided to make myself keep the one I have so far. I told myself I can change my mind at any time. ;o)

  12. To be sincere, I love this design more than the past ones. I think its clean and sleek and most importantly, it's soft on the eyes.

    Good choice!

  13. Hi Sue...well, as you can tell, I've removed the red and I do think it's a little easier on the eyes.

    M. Hassan, Thanks! I agree that it's soft on the eyes and I do like the clean lines. But I may just change it again. I'm thinking I might try a dark background so the photos stand out better.

  14. Dark background is not good for people with eye problems like me (dried eyes). I always avoid websites with black background and white text, very hard to read.

I just love reading your comments. It's part of what makes blogging so much fun, don't you think?

Unfortunately, because of a recent spat of spam, for awhile I'll be reviewing comments before publishing them.

Thanks for understanding.
