The Epitome of Thoughtfulness

This sweet message was delivered by our mail carrier, yesterday.  It made my day.

A Get Well Message

Adam just turned five years old.  I thought it was quite generous of Adam to include his baby brother, Eric, in the good wishes but Adam is a very generous boy, after all.  Their mommy is my niece.  We don't see them very often because they live in Washington state but this is so like my niece.   What a girl!

Closer to home, our daughter-in-law is a lot like my niece...she's always thinking of others.  Here are two cute cards that the twins sent along with two decorated paper snowflakes which are displayed on our refrigerator.

More Get Well Wishes!

Harry and Lucy both know how to spell their names, now, as you can clearly see.  The idea is to get all the letters on the page...anywhere there is room!

I'm a very lucky lady.

Ankle Update:  I'm on my second cast.  The first cast was uncomfortable and seemed to be irritating my ankle.  Not that a cast is ever comfortable, of course!  This just didn't seem right to me.

Apparently, my foot was not at a 90 degree angle which is how it should have been.  The weight of the cast felt heavier because of that.   Much better now.  I have an appointment on March 8th for more x-rays.  If the fractures look to be healing well, I will get a walking cast.  Fingers crossed.

  1. I can imagine that if it's uncomfortable 100% of the time then that's not condusive to healing in any way.

Hope you get to have it taken off soon.

  9. What sweet cards. Ir remember my own little ones well-wishes and still have a few of them. Seeing their names printed in all their glory is such a fine thing. I hope your new cast makes everything a bit better.

  18. Hi Ramona...I had an x-ray, yesterday, and the doctor said it looks good and he'll probably put me in a "walking boot" on March 8th. Am so excited about that!

Hilary, I have a ton of catching up to do, too. Thanks for the visit...will be by The Smitten Image ASAP.

Thank you, Janet. Hopefully, this will be my last cast!

Thanks, Linda. I totally agree with you.

Blissed-Out Grandma, they certainly do help, that's for sure.

Hi Joseph! I agree with you. Children put it all in perspective, don't they?

Thanks, Janie. Am healing better than expected so will be on my feet very soon.

  19. I'm sorry about your ankle injury. I read your last comments to see that it is healing OK.

Thanks for your comment on my foliage post. The rabbit's foot fern is Larry's only houseplant. He takes it downstairs to his shower to water it. He's kept it alive several years now.

I just love reading your comments. It's part of what makes blogging so much fun, don't you think?

Unfortunately, because of a recent spat of spam, for awhile I'll be reviewing comments before publishing them.

Thanks for understanding.
