Yesterday I thought I should take some pictures to show how much snow had melted. Just for the record, of course. After all, this is a journal of sorts and I should document such things.
Well, I didn't take those pictures and here's what we woke to, this morning:
 |
| Snowfall, March 23, 2011 |
If you look closely at this first photograph, you can see the plume of snow generated by our neighbor's snow blower across the street from our house.
 |
| Snowy Pines and Snowy Window |
I took this photograph from a bedroom window. Those white patches are snow on the window. The forecast for the rest of the week doesn't look promising. No more snow but cold temperatures. There will be no melting of snow this week.
This is the second day of spring. Just for the record.
Okay, I'll quit complaining that we went from Winter to Summer. Cause I like hot a whole lot more than snow.
ReplyDeleteI love snow. Not sure whether I'd been so keen on it on March 23, though.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if you received the memo about spring, but it started on March 20th. You may want to inform Mother Nature. (But do it in a nice way!)
ReplyDeleteInsane! I was pretty surprised to wake up to snow as well, but nothing like that... Ours became slush and melted away in no time. We still have snow coming down lightly today, but thankfully nothing is sticking. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteFunny stuff, Cheryl. I woke to some of that, too. Ol' Man Winter's hanging on for dear life. Tenacious little you-know-what.
ReplyDeleteThis weather!!! I'm over it. Pretty photos. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAt least we don't have snow yet here.
Agh.. you're worse of than we are but it's snowing and blowing here as I type. The photos are lovely but I'm so ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteWe got snow, too - a lot more than we expected. And you're right, the temps are low enough that it's not going to melt right away. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteSpring has been issuing teasers in Indiana, too. We had a nice warm spell, then a forecast that included snow. No measurable amounts predicted, though.
ReplyDeletegood night...i think i will keep my spring...kinda glad we are done with the white stuff for the year...
ReplyDeleteYou're getting our weather. I thought we were done with snow, too, then yesterday hit. I got home and had to shovel just enough to move the car into the driveway. Fortunately, my husband finished the rest of the driveway.
ReplyDeleteCheryl it appears you have the same weather we do, no sign of spring here yet neither unfortunately. I wonder if I'll be able to even get a garden in this year at this rate. If I do I do and if I don't oh well, such is life.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, oh how's the foot coming along?
Pretty, but it it time for the daffodils and crocus to poke their heads up! xxx
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, is this normal in your parts or not at all? It looks absolutely stunning though, but I can not imagine this much snow in the end of the March at all. I would truly be depressed.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can make the best of it and find a cosy spot in your home and enjoy winter a bit longer, I am sure spring just took a detour, but it is on its way.;))
xoxo
It's just winter saying farewell...
ReplyDeleteGads. All our snow is melted and by golly the lawns are turning green. But now the forecast for tomorrow is snow. Temperamental weather this time of year. Hope you are feeling great regardless of the weather and piles of snow in your area.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing what I don't get to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAloha to you
from Waikiki!

Looks like Old Man Winter is hanging on and letting us all know about it! We had a dusting and then a bit of ice... just enough to let us know the Old Man was still around.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
Looks just like our weather.
ReplyDeleteOur forecast is looking a little better though - it's supposed to get up over the freezing mark soon. I'm looking forward to it!
Hi Ramona! It depends on the heat...dry heat I can take but humidity and heat just does me in. I don't mind snow but I am mighty tired of it, now.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Linda M. Seems late for snow but we could even get it in April (knock wood).
I think that danged memo passed Minnesota by, Betty!
Hannah, I saw that you were supposed to get snow, too. Glad yours melted :-)
Tenacious is just the right word, Teresa. But it's sunny, today, and sun makes it tolerable.
Thanks, Janell! Even though your weather hasn't been the best this winter I'd take it over this snow, any day.
Thank you, Hilary. I've been lucky being able to get a shot or two through the windows even though they're not the best. Can't be outside much until I get this walking boot off.
Oh, I'm sorry you got snow, too, Blissed-Out Grandma. Well, it can't last too much longer (I hope).
Well, Linda, hopefully we'll both have a real spring very soon!
Hi Brian! Thanks for stopping by and good for you that your snow is all gone.
Vickie, whenever I see snow for Montana I know we're going to get it too. I don't blame you, personally, though! :-)
Yep, darlin...the same weather. You're right...such is life!
Are there crocus and daffodils in England, yet, Fran? I wish I had a greenhouse like you do!
Yes, Zuzana...it's normal. Some years we even get snow in April!
You are right, Lady Fi...winter saying farewell. I like that!
Hi TechnoBabe! Luckily, if you did get snow, it's probably all melted. I think your winter is a couple of months shorter than ours.
Well, Cloudia, I'd take the weather in Hawaii over the weather in Minnesota, any day! But I'm happy you enjoyed the snowy photos.
Thanks, MaggieGem! I think you're right...Old Man Winter isn't finished with New Jersey, yet, either!
Bag Lady, we're not getting "melting" weather until the middle of next week. But I will welcome it with open arms!
