The Ice on Lake Mary and A Little Culture

We're leaving for Kansas on Wednesday morning, early.  Actually, it's ALMOST Wednesday morning as I post this.  I thought the ice would have gone out by now but it will for sure be gone when we return.

You can see ice chunks that have broken off and open water taking its place.

The darker color out further is really very slushy, thin ice.  One day there's an entire lake of ice and then all of a sudden....pouf!...it's gone.  I can hardly wait!

We're going to Kansas to see our granddaughter in her first starring role.  She's a very talented ten year old who has been in several productions but never before in the lead.  This time she's Alice of Alice in Wonderland!  The star!  It's a musical and it's put on by The Culture House Theater.  It's going to be great!

(Sorry, Dorothy...you're not in Kansas, anymore.)

Stay tuned...

  9. Our ice on the lake is still spongy and thin... but it will disappear any day now - I hope!

The icy sea is very different from what we are used to round here. Never gets that cold.

Lady Fi, I wonder whose ice will go out first...yours in Sweden or ours in Minnesota?

Thanks, TechnoBabe! I wanted to have pictures posted by now but we've been busy, busy, busy here in Kansas.

Hi Maggie...that North Sea can be mighty chilly, I know. But it doesn't freeze, lucky for you! Thanks for stopping by.

I just love reading your comments. It's part of what makes blogging so much fun, don't you think?

Unfortunately, because of a recent spat of spam, for awhile I'll be reviewing comments before publishing them.

Thanks for understanding.
