| A nighttime bonfire at Lake Mary |
We decided to put the fire pit up in a curved grassy area near the lakescaping.
Jack had the pit pretty much dug by the time the twins and their parents came. Then they set to work transferring the dirt to the garden wagon and then moved the rocks from the beach to the new spot.

| All finished! It looks great. |
Believe it or not we didn't actually build a fire. The weekend just flew by...swimming, picnics on the beach, fireworks...by the time evening rolled in there were two mighty tired little four-year-olds all ready for a good night's sleep.
There's still a lot of summer left and I'm confident that plenty of sizzling hot dogs and ooey gooey s'mores will be consumed around that fire pit.
Speaking of summer...we are going to be as busy as we've ever been....busier, even. I'm not sure I'll be able to post very often. Boring you to death isn't my goal and posting just for the sake of posting wouldn't be cool.
My thoughts were that I'd try to post something "Minnesota" now and then...scenic views, a little history and/or something unique to our lake country. And that's still what I'd like to do. So if something interesting happens along our way or an intriguing photo op presents itself, I'll be sure to blog about it. In the meantime, enjoy this season wherever you are.
Now I'm off to prepare for our next event which is tomorrow....it's the Relay for Life and we've never worked that in the past. It's a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society so a percentage of our proceeds will benefit that organization. It's a good thing.

I bet that's peaceful sitting on the beach watching a fire.
ReplyDeleteIt is, Ramona...if you ever get up this way, you can come over and make your own s'more. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe fire pit in the grassy area looks like it was always like that. It looks inviting and safe for the little ones while the adults chatter.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place you have, Cheryl. Hope you don't get so busy that you can't enjoy some nice relaxing time there this summer.
ReplyDeleteI love where you've moved your firepit to, it's a perfect location! Your yard looks fantastic as well.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy all that you're up to this summer, have fun and we shall see you when you post again.
What a welcoming looking spot! Wish I were in Minnesota.
ReplyDeleteAs a cancer survivor, I say thank you! Have a great summer.
ReplyDeleteBonfires were great back in my day. I love them during those summer beach parties.
